Following the earthquake that occurred on February 6, 2023, and was felt in 11 provinces, Bodrum Municipality has completed its efforts to provide services to the earthquake-affected citizens in Hatay Arsuz Friendship City.

Starting with food and clothing aid from Bodrum, our efforts have progressed and we have made innovations in the city to ensure that our citizens can continue their lives in a more comfortable manner. As a result, we have removed all the tents in the city. As part of the improvements made in the region, we have placed 290 container houses, providing accommodation for 1,400 citizens. The container city offers all facilities such as showers, kitchen, seating area, bed, television, air conditioning, stove, and water heater, serving our citizens. Social facilities, storage areas, barber shop, hairdresser, café, market, children's playgrounds, library, pharmacy, health cabinet, daycare center, and laundry continue to serve our citizens. Additionally, walking and cycling paths have been built around the container city, and infrastructure, landscaping, and environmental security measures have been carried out by our municipal teams. Upon completion of the work, the Friendship City will be handed over to the local administrations in the region according to a designated plan.
