Mumcular is the name given to the people of the region since the squeezing-wax work was common in the village in the past. In Mumcular, whose old name was Karaova, agriculture and animal husbandry are at the forefront, not tourism. Mumcular Dam, built by collecting small stream flows from mountains and hills in Mumcular, whose back is covered with red pine forests and olive groves, plays a major role in irrigation of agricultural lands and meeting the water needs of Bodrum. There is Mustafa Kalem Park in the greenery next to this dam, and Mumcular Cafe in the park. Mumcular Cafe is the meeting point of the village people, especially on hot summer evenings.
