RAISING ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS AMONG CHILDREN
STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN CLEANUP ACTIVITY
Bodrum Municipality continues its activities aimed at children, asserting that environmental awareness should be instilled at a young age.
Within the scope of the E-Twinnig Project, the Waste Management Unit of Bodrum Municipality's Cleaning Department provided Zero Waste Education by organizing a nature walk and cleanup activity with 56 students from ‘Dereköy Ahmet Zeki Büyükkuşoğlu Elementary School’ at Gümüşlük beach for the purpose of raising awareness.
During the education provided by the technical staff of the Waste Management Unit, the children followed with great interest and attention. In the enjoyable atmosphere of the nature walk, the children, along with their teachers, carefully cleaned the Gümüşlük beach and harbor.
Ahmet Aras, the Mayor of Bodrum, emphasized the belief that environmental sensitivity should be instilled in children at a young age while making statements regarding the efforts carried out by Bodrum Municipality for environmental protection. He stated that they will continue to organize activities for young people and children in line with this belief.
